2022 Porsche Cayenne Coupe: Choosing the Right Trim
Porsche introduced a new Turbo GT grade to keep things fresh for the returning 2022 Porsche Cayenne Coupe. It also updated Cayenne’s infotainment system, adding Android Auto.
Otherwise, this sweptback version of its Cayenne SUV is unchanged.
For 2022, the Cayenne Coupe’s trim-level pecking order is Coupe, E-Hybrid, S, GTS, Turbo, Turbo S E-Hybrid, and Turbo GT.
Not available to the more traditional Cayenne lineup, Turbo GT leapfrogs to the top of the Cayenne Coupe grades. Porsche packs it with a more potent version of the twin-turbo V8 already getting things done in the GTS, Turbo, and Turbo S E-Hybrid.
As with the other Cayenne Coupe trims, Turbo GT provides all-wheel drive (AWD) as standard.
Although we view the Turbo GT as an answer to a question no one was asking, it will blast to 60 mph from a standstill in 3.1 seconds. If you want some bragging rights, the Turbo GT delivers.
We like the Cayenne Coupe for its diverse array of powertrains, head-turning looks, sporty handling, and well-crafted cabin.
Anyone capable of playing in the rarefied air of Cayenne Coupe’s $77,500 to $180,800 price spread probably doesn’t care about monthly payments. However, we will provide those estimates anyway.
Always happy to motivate you to dig even deeper into your wallet as you make your Porsche your own, the carmaker provides a legion of options to help you add tens of thousands to the bottom line in a hurry.
Every powertrain in the Cayenne Coupe family features an 8-speed automatic transmission with paddle shifters. A stop-start function and a coasting feature operate to conserve fuel in each gas engine.
Power & Fuel Economy
Anchoring the engine lineup is the 335-horsepower 3.0-liter turbocharged V6 motivating the base Cayenne Coupe. The government mileage estimates are 17 mpg in the city, 22 mpg on the highway, and 19 mpg in combined driving.
Up next providing the gasoline engine part of the Cayenne E-Hybrid Coupe is the 3.0-liter turbocharged V6. When paired with an electric motor, the collaboration is good for 455 hp.
The government uses a formula for gauging the mileage for vehicles that derive at least some of their propulsion from battery electric alone. It’s called miles per gallon equivalent (MPGe). For the E-Hybrid, it’s 46 MPGe for its 17 miles of electric-only driving. Estimating it traditionally is 20 mpg city/22 mpg highway/21 mpg combined.
Providing the power source for the Cayenne S Coupe is a 434-hp 2.9-liter twin-turbo V6. According to government estimates, its fuel economy is 16 mpg city/22 mpg highway/18 mpg combined.
A 453 4.0-liter twin-turbo V8 generates the go for the Cayenne GTS Coupe. Its estimated mileage is 15 mpg city/19 mpg highway/17 mpg combined.
Porsche tunes the 4.0-liter twin-turbo V8 to generate 541 hp in the Cayenne Turbo Coupe. Here the mileage estimates are 15 mpg city/20 mpg highway/17 mpg combined.
Porsche mates an electric motor to the 4.0-liter twin-turbo V8 to get a total of 670 hp from the Cayenne Turbo S E-Hybrid Coupe. Its mileage for the 15 miles of electric-only driving is 42 MPGe. The traditional numbers are 17 mpg city/20 mpg highway/18 mpg combined.
In the all-new Cayenne Turbo GT Coupe, the 4.0-liter twin-turbo V8 delivers 631 hp. It delivers a government estimated 14 mpg city/19 mpg highway/16 mpg combined.
2022 Porsche Cayenne Coupe (starting at $77,500)
The base Coupe provides AWD, 20-inch alloy wheels, 6-piston front-brake calipers, aluminum construction, and a fixed panoramic glass roof.
Also included are LED exterior lighting (auto on-off headlights, taillights, and daytime running lights), rain-sensing wipers, a power rear liftgate, and an adaptive rear spoiler.
Other features are heated power-folding outboard mirrors, the Porsche Sport Chrono Package, cruise control, a Homelink transceiver, and dual-zone automatic climate control.
Leather-trimmed front sport seats, a 40/20/40 folding rear seat, a leather-wrapped steering wheel, and four USB ports are standard.
Keyless entry with push-button start is also included.
Within the infotainment system is a 12.3-inch touchscreen. Also included are a 10-speaker audio system, wireless Apple CarPlay, wireless Android Auto, Bluetooth, and navigation.
Porsche doesn’t offer much in the way of active driver aids. Front-rear park assist, as well as forward-collision warning with automatic emergency braking, are about it.
However, you can opt for a head-up display ($1,720), a surround-view camera ($1,200), lane-changing assist ($950), lane-keeping assist ($1,300), and adaptive cruise control ($2,000).
Adding the $1,350 destination fee to the base Cayenne Coupe base price brings the total to $78,850. If you put no money down and financed for 60 months at 3% interest, the monthly payment works out to $1,417. See 2022 Porsche Cayenne Coupe models for sale
2022 Porsche Cayenne Coupe includes:
Sport Chrono Package – This includes a track stopwatch and up to five driving modes.
Front-rear park assist – Sensors on the front and rear bumpers detect when an object is close, triggering a warning.
LED exterior lighting – This includes headlights with auto on-off, taillights, and daytime running lights (DRLs). LEDs illuminate a wider and longer area than regular incandescent lights. That means they are also easier for other drivers to see.
2022 Porsche Cayenne E-Hybrid Coupe (starting at $88,600)
Porsche adds an electric motor to the 3.0-liter turbocharged V6 in this hybrid propulsion system. The E-Hybrid Coupe is otherwise outfitted much like the base Coupe.
Most of the options and option packages are the same as the base Coupe.
Adding the $1,350 destination fee to the Cayenne E-Hybrid Coupe base price equals $89,950. Financing with no money down for 60 months at 3% interest works out to $1,616 per month. See 2022 Porsche Cayenne E-Hybrid Coupe models for sale
2022 Porsche Cayenne S Coupe (starting at $91,100)
Basically, the S Coupe builds on the base Coupe, adding the more powerful 2.9-liter twin-turbo V6.

Building on the S Coupe, GTS adds 21-inch alloy wheels, adaptive air suspension, gloss-black exterior accents, and torque vectoring.
Also included are 8-way power-adjustable front seats, leather seating with faux-suede inserts, adaptive LED headlights, and auto-dimming mirrors.
Still, lots of options and option packages are available.

Auto-dimming mirrors – Using photosensors, they recognize bright headlights closing from behind. They then automatically dim the reflection of those lights.
Adaptive headlights – rotate in the direction of the steering wheel, lighting corners that would otherwise be dark.
Torque vectoring – It allows different amounts of torque to be distributed between drive wheels on the same axle. This means the inside wheel can turn slower than the outside wheel for improved cornering.
2022 Porsche Cayenne Turbo Coupe (starting at $133,500)
The Turbo Coupe loses the torque vectoring and gains a slightly more powerful version of the 4.0L twin-turbo V8. It also adds a few higher-performance elements like 10-piston front brakes and extra air intakes.
Other standard features are a heated steering wheel, 18-way heated power-adjustable front sport seats, and an upgraded 14-speaker Bose audio system.
